Assessment you can feel sure about
Perspectives on the Past gives you everything you need to assess Stage 3 History outcome HS3-HIS-01 and report on it with confidence. Students compare two historical sources about migration to Australia after World War II, and explain why they tell the story differently.
You get the task, the rubric, the marked examples and the report comments, so the hard thinking is done before the marking pile arrives. It isn’t a teaching program: bring your own unit, and this toolkit takes care of the assessment.
How it works in your classroom
1
Set the task
Standard, scaffolded and extension task sheets, plus a slide deck to introduce it. Notes for students learning English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) and students with disability.
2
Mark and moderate
A five-level rubric and four annotated work samples. The marking guide points out the traps that pull a fair judgement down a level.
3
Write your reports
The tracking workbook converts levels to the A to E scale, and the comment bank gives you a starting point for every student.
